Volunteer

There are many opportunities to volunteer for The Brighton Design Show. If you are over 18 and have an interest in supporting the festival and design in Brighton, this is a great way to get involved.

You need to be available between for 8 hours over the opening time period.

You’ll be on hand to check-in guests, look after speakers, take payments and handle tickets, help with the venue set up and generally be a friendly face around the exhibition to be a point of information for attendees. You’ll get to meet some amazing people, have priority when booking events, be able to attend the show for free and get special rates in the design shop.

Please fill in the application form below. Deadline for applications is to be announced. There will be training ahead of the festival where you can meet other volunteers and check out the venue.

The volunteer team operates in shifts so you will have your schedule in advance.

Terms and Conditions

  • I agree to turn up to my rota shifts on time, and to advise well in advance if my availability for rostered shifts changes.
  • I agree to work under the guidance and supervision of The Brighton Design Show and Wagner Hall staff.
  • I agree to turn up to my first rostered shift 10 minutes before the scheduled staff so as to be informed of particulars of the role and the venue.
  • I will not turn up to a rostered shift unfit for work.
  • I agree to advise The Brighton Design Show and Wagner Hall staff if I am unable or uncomfortable to complete tasks that have been assigned to. We will be understanding of these requests, just give us as much notice as possible.
  • I agree to inform my supervisor immediately of any injuries sustained while undertaking volunteering activities.
  • As a member of the The Brighton Design Show team, I will do my best to provide correct information and a positive attitude to all members of the public I deal with throughout the festival.
  • I agree to work in a constructive and cooperative way with TBDS staff and comply with any health and safety procedures as requested.
  • I understand that I am volunteering my services to MMF and will not receive any remuneration for my services.
